How do I setup Outlook Express for E-mail if I use Verizon?

1. Open Outlook Express, select the Tools menu and click Accounts.

   

2. Click the Mail tab to make it the active window. Select the account name you want to verify or reconfigure, then click the Properties button.
   • Note: The Name column may appear different on your computer.

   

3. On the General tab, ensure that the E-mail address: listed is your correct e-mail address address.

   

4. On the Servers tab, click My server requires authentication and then click Settings.

   

5. On the Outgoing Mail Server settings page, Logon Using, and enter your Verizon user name and password. Click OK.

   

6. On the Advanced tab, enter 465 in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port number field and 995 in the Incoming mail (POP3) field. For both, click This server requires authentication (SSL).

   

7. Click OK and then Close and you will return to the main Outlook Express window.
